Bill Granger has built a string of eateries around the world, and his fun, relaxed approach to food reflects his affinity with Australia’s easy-going lifestyle. Head Chef Jordan Wijeadasa leads the kitchen team at the Bondi restaurant. True to its beachside location, the restaurant has a friendly holiday buzz. Sliding windows open onto outdoor tables in the street. Polished concrete floors, contemporary cane chairs, wide banquettes and marble-topped tables keep the feel casual, clean and beachy.
The menu is proudly fresh-produce driven and offers so many healthy options. Crisp, tender, fried calamari is complemented by a crunchy, palate-cleansing green papaya salad and fresh herbs. And, in a stroke of genius, pork belly is served as san choi bao. The rich, spicy pork is wrapped in fresh, crunchy salad leaves, along with cooling cucumber and plenty of fresh coriander.
PSST! House-made sodas, like hibiscus and lime, are very refreshing on a hot day and a lovely alternative to alcoholic offerings from the cocktail bar.
