Owner/Executive Chef Felix Rutz changes his menu, sometimes daily, to reflect his commitment to using the freshest seasonal produce. He offers many superb Italian classics but does not hesitate to introduce daring spices and flavours to deliver unique culinary experiences. With its cosy and chic interior, subdued lighting, white tablecloths, interesting artworks and dark moody walls, bei amici is a suburban hidden gem.
Traditional Italian dishes are given a twist. To start, try the chunks of tender calamari with crunchy pistachio nuts, fregola and cavolo nero, finished with a lemon dressing. The house-made spelt fettuccine with venison ragu and mushroom features pumpkin bread crumb as a surprise ingredient, adding a playful crunch. Deboned spatchcock is roasted with lemon to crispy golden perfection, the flesh moist and tender. The accompanying salad of sweetcorn, pomegranate, radish, garlic and thyme is quite unique and enhances the culinary adventure.
PSST! A superb wine list is on offer to match Chef Rutz’s creations.
