With experience at Est Est Est and some of France’s leading restaurants, Head Chef Ben Russell joined Matt Moran’s ARIA in Sydney before moving to Brisbane in 2009 and putting the northern venue firmly on the map of the city’s fine diners.
With its stylish interior and floor-to-ceiling windows over-looking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge, ARIA Restaurant Brisbane is a dining experience. This is a place for a long lunch, and the service is personable and knowledgeable.
An amuse-bouche of sliced fig with creamy burrata and crisp African popcorn is a hint of things to come. Spanner crab, soft and sweet, is topped with cucumber slices and crunchy puffed black rice, complemented by an avocado puree and spicy wasabi leaf with a light umami-flavoured dressing. Veal with celeriac and native thyme features rare veal steak, tender and juicy, together with a soft, slow-cooked veal brisket served with a rich and salty jus, steamed celeriac and a celeriac puree. There’s also a selection of high-quality beef steaks, as well as some excellent desserts.
PSST! Give the gift of hospitality with an ARIA gift certificate.
