Brad Jolly honed his skills with some of the world’s best chefs, including Marco Pierre White and Jamie Oliver. Brad combines his classic European training with quality local produce to showcase the best of Australian cuisine.
The decor is simple, clean and fresh, with magnificent views of the Brisbane River. The service is professional and efficient. Alchemy also has an impressive wine list, with some excellent quality wines available by the glass.
The menu presents a range of French-inspired dishes. An appetiser of Rangers Valley beef croquettes delivers three crisp golden croquettes filled with a rich beef mousse and served with a sweet sherry and honey dressing. The Grimaud smoked and brined duck breast is firm, pink, with a strong smoky flavour complemented by a sweet citrus and lavender honey sauce, poached pears and a salad of shredded fennel, herbs and orange – an excellent re-interpretation of a classic French dish. There are some excellent desserts, including Brad’s liquid nitrogen experience, with sweet gastronomic nibbles – worth leaving room for!
PSST! Start your evening with a cocktail from the bar on the verandah, overlooking the spectacular river view.
