Chef Sean Corkery (ex-Fratelli Fresh) has teamed up with Nina Gravelis, one of the original Fratelli Fresh co-founders, to create a modern nod to the traditional trattoria at this affable, new Potts Point eatery. The stripped back, cool grey interior is contrasted by a generous dark-wood bar, bentwood chairs and timber tables, with plenty of nooks and crannies to make it ideal for both couples and groups.
Referencing the paddock-to-plate ethos, each dish lists the provenance of the main ingredient. Select from a tight list of pastas or a range of mains, though it might be worth considering a second entree if their crab spaghettini is on. The sweet crabmeat is complemented with savoury cherry tomatoes and just enough chilli to make it all dance. There’s deft technique in a crisp-skinned fillet of king salmon with braised lettuce and peas, and even side dishes are packed with flavour.
