Local craft brewery Young Henrys collaborates with Harry's Café de Wheels for a limited-edition pie, with free pies and beer on launch day!
To mark the re-release of Young Henrys favourite Hoppy Porter ‘Motorcycle Oil’, the Newtown locals are riding into all 11 Harry’s stores after 22 July until the end of September with a special pie inspired by the rich and hoppy flavours that have made this smooth beer return year after year. This is the third year in a row that Young Henrys have brewed Motorcycle Oil as a speciality beer, second year it has been a major seasonal release and the first time it has been made into a pastry.
To kick off the launch of the collaboration, Harry’s Café de Wheels are sending one of their new food trailers to Newtown on Sunday, 21 July. Parking in the Young Henrys Brewery tasting bar, the trailer will be handing out free pies and tinnies to the first 100 punters through the door. Putting a spin on the Sunday roast, crack open a Motorcycle Oil and enjoy the premium beefy hoppy pie.
The pie will be made from premium Aussie topside beef that has been slowly braised with Young Henrys Motorcycle Oil beer and finished with a hint of mustard. Expect a beefy hoppy flavour that will ignite anyone’s tastebuds.
On the collaboration, Young Henrys Co-Founder Oscar McMahon states, “Beer and pies, Harry and Henry ... we’re pretty bloody stoked to be making a delicious wintery porter pie with the Sydney icon that is, Harrys Café de Wheels.”
Harry’s Café de Wheels is no stranger to a familiar face with the iconic brand maintaining a tradition of serving customers delicious food since 1938. Famous faces who have visited over the years include Colonel Sanders, Frank Sinatra, Sir Elton John, Judy Garland, Anthony Bourdain, Brooke Shields, Jerry Lewis and Prince Harry, to name a few.
Daniel Beuthner, Senior Manager at Harry’s Café de Wheels says: “Young Henry’s Motorcycle Oil, with its smooth and hoppy notes, revs the flavour in our Beer Pies up to the max. Serving the people with that Young Henrys flair in a famously Australian, uniquely Harry’s way.”
