Jack Daniel’s inspired sauces and slushies

WingHAÜS by Bavarian, a wing-packed, sauce-smacked spinoff of Australia’s fun-loving The Bavarian family, has launched its inaugural Allstar Flavour Series … and the flavour is Jack Daniel’s.


Each limited-edition series, which changes every few months, will hero a new flavour that inspires different elements of the menu: from wings, to burgers, drinks and desserts.


The kick-off flavour is Jack Daniel’s and the refined, mellow, maple syrup notes of this Tennessee whiskey underscore a sensational Sticky Jack Daniel’s sauce that douses a range of fabulous fried wings.


Burger lovers can also score a whiskey-inspired win with JD’s Chookhaüs burger, which layers secret-spiced chicken breast, Sticky Jack Daniel’s sauce, habanero hot sauce, coleslaw, cheese and pickles in between a soft white bun. It requires a two-hand grip and comes with hot chips.


Go for a hat-trick with a frozen Jack & Coke that is poured straight from the slushie machine just in time for the peak of summer. Add a float of Chambord for soft undertones of black raspberry.


Inspired by the chicken wing’s cult status in the US, and The Bavarian’s own famous buffalo wings, WingHAÜS by Bavarian offers a choice of classic buffalo wings, fried wings (dusted in either chipotle or habanero powder) and boneless chicken tenders that are addictively good enough to create their own cult following.


Diners choose a style of wing and preferred sauce. Sticky Jack Daniel’s joins eight signature sauces on the menu with a heat index that ranges from mild to meltingly hot: teriyaki, Texas BBQ, traditional hot sauce, Korean, habanero, chipotle, afterburner and face melting. There are five dips on offer: blue cheese, ranch dressing, honey and mustard, garlic, and haüs sauce. All wings come in servings of 10, 15, 20, 50, or 100 pieces and with celery and carrot sticks and blue cheese dip.


Side dishes include coleslaw, pickled vegetables, deep-fried pickles, chips, onion rings, collard greens and mash and gravy. JD’s Chookhaüs joins three other burgers on the menu: Classichaüs, Chookhaüs and Moohaüs.


The creator of the Sticky Jack Daniel’s sauce, Culinary Chef Jeffrey Sue, said he wanted to add an exceptionally sticky sauce to the menu, for the fingerlickin’ fun of it. “Jack Daniel’s adds a depth of flavour and mellow undertones to a sauce that is sticky, sweet and has an incredible glaze,” says Jeff. “It’s difficult to stop eating these wings, they’re so addictively good.”
