Where to celebrate Negroni Week 2019 in Melbourne

With Negroni Week 2019 (24 to 30 June) fast approaching, here’s how some of Melbourne's favourite venues are celebrating 100 years of Campari.

Throughout the last week in June, Tipico, Stokehouse, Pontoon, Fatto Bar & Cantina, Neptune Food & Wine and Bomba Tapas Bar and Rooftop will be pouring differing takes on the celebrated drink. Each venue will donate part of the proceeds to a chosen charity.

Giving diners the classic taste of Campari and vermouth rosso for the duration of Negroni Week 2019, Windsor hotspot Tipico will be pouring sweet and sour versions of the beloved tipple. Stirred behind the bar, guests can choose either a classic Negroni or Tipico's take on a Negroni Sour. Each will be priced at $20.

Celebrating Negroni Week 2019, St Kilda’s iconic bayside venue Stokehouse will be pouring a bespoke Barrel-Aged Negroni comprising Tanqueray Gin, Antica Formula and Campari all combined and aged in an oak barrel. Each Barrel-Aged Negroni is $20 and will be available between 24 and 30 June 2019.

From 24 June to 30 June, beloved beachside hangout Pontoon at St Kilda Beach is offering house Negronis for the special price of $12. Watch the waves roll in from Pontoon's cosy banquette lounges, sip on a Negroni and graze on delicious Spanish-style tapas and share plates.

Ascend to the roof at Lonsdale Street's Bomba Tapas Bar and Rooftop and celebrate Negroni Week in style with four unique cocktails from Bar Manager Cara Devine. Celebrating 100 years of Negroni, each cocktail will highlight unique combinations of Campari – like the Barrel-aged East India Negroni, made with East India Cream Sherry and Bomba Animus Gin, and the Campari and Verano Negroni, including Rondo Aperitivo, Lillet Rosé and Bomba Animus Gin – and will be available for the duration of the week.

Windsor's go-to coastal Italian bar and eatery will be serving a special take on the classic Negroni in celebration of Negroni Week 2019. Settle in at the stunning Southside venue and choose between three versions of the drink: a classic Negroni; a Negroni made with gin and cacao and wattleseed-infused Oloroso; and a cold-drip Negroni – think a standard Negroni but with a shot of cold-drip coffee! The drinks will be $22 each and served all week long, with $2 from each being donated to OzHarvest.
