Limited-edition dining box to launch for pre-order across Australia from 10 February
Tanqueray, the bartenders’ favourite gin, has announced a first-of-its-kind collaboration with meal kit subscription service Marley Spoon and Australia’s Matt Preston. The partnership will see the three culinary heavyweights create a limited-edition dining box that will provide home diners everything they need to host a dinner party to impress – including bespoke Tanqueray cocktails, and will be available for pre-order from Monday 10 February.
To celebrate the partnership, Tanquerary and Matt Preston will host the ultimate dinner party for Sydneysiders at the Sydney Opera House, on Thursday 20th February. Surrounded by dramatic views of Sydney Harbour, guests will experience a specially curated three-course meal and cocktails from the dining box and be inspired to host their very own evening to remember. Tickets are available to purchase from Thursday 6 February, for $120 via the Opera House Website
The Tanqueray × Marley Spoon ultimate dinner party box will be available in two exclusive menu variations – Korean and French. It will contain all the ingredients to serve a three-course meal to six people, including Tanqueray London Dry Gin cocktails and hosting hints and tips from Matt Preston. The boxes aim to encourage people to host friends and family for an exceptional at home experience, for $269 (approx. $45 a head). Those who are interested in elevating their dining experience even more can upgrade their box with a bottle of Tanqueray Nº TEN, a small-batch gin crafted using fresh citrus fruits for $299.
The Tanqueray × Marley Spoon dinner party box will tap into the trend for home entertaining which is emerging across the globe. A 2018 trends report by the Future Laboratory in the UK notes that consumers are prioritising sharing memorable experiences with loved ones and many are cooking for others more often today than they did five years ago. The report declares “new roles of food and drink will involve inspiration, connection and education” and calls for food and drink brands to “elevate convenience, cater for time-pressed consumers ... and reinvigorate eating and drinking at home”. In addition, the ultimate dinner party box will contain locally sourced, pre-portioned ingredients to allow hosts to create the ultimate evening for family and friends with zero food waste.
Matt Preston said: “I am thrilled to collaborate with Tanqueray and Marley Spoon to encourage Australians to get together in their homes, share special moments and, of course, a show-stopping dining experience.
“The Tanqueray × Marley Spoon ultimate dinner party box contains everything people need to take their dinner parties to the next level and add a little magic to an evening with their nearest and dearest, from recipes I’ve created exclusively for this collaboration to exciting new twists on the Tanqueray gin and tonic. The biggest benefit is that someone else has done the thinking and shopping for you!”
Linda Wellington, Marketing Manager at Diageo, said: “We are so excited to have collaborated with Marley Spoon and Matt Preston to encourage Australians to experience Tanqueray in their home, whilst still being inspired to bring to life a heightened dining experience.
“Like Charles Tanqueray who searched the globe for the perfect ingredients to create the unmistakable Tanqueray taste, we believe that ‘It’s what you put in’ that matters. We’ve worked with Marley Spoon, Matt Preston and key tastemakers from around Australia to showcase what makes a dinner party special. We look forward to bringing this experience to guests at our event at The Sydney Opera House, as well as those dining at home with friends and family with the Tanqueray × Marley Spoon ultimate dinner party box.”
Olivia Andrews, Culinary Director and Co-founder of Marley Spoon Australia, added: “One of the key values of Marley Spoon is that we make healthy and delicious weeknight cooking as easy as possible. The Tanqueray × Marley Spoon ultimate dinner party box allows us to bring our key values to passionate Australian home cooks who love to host social events too.
“Sharing meals with friends and family is one of life’s greatest and simplest pleasures, and with this never-before-seen coming together of Marley Spoon expertise, with cocktails from Tanqueray and curation by Matt Preston we look forward to giving keen cooks the tools to prepare a meal for guests, showcase their culinary skills and deliver a truly unique experience.”
The first Tanqueray × Marley Spoon ultimate dinner party box is available to pre-order from 10 February–29 March, with deliveries commencing from 9 March to 5 April. Those interested in finding out more information about the collaboration can visit the Marley Spoon Website
