From the team behind Melbourne CBD institution Il Bacaro and South Yarra’s Bar Carolina comes Marameo, a cheeky new Italian all-day dining venue now open on Russell Place.
Esteemed hospitality design firm Chris Connell Design has transformed the iconic Melbourne laneway site to reflect Marameo’s playful character, offering a fresh and vibrant experience for a summer of sun, spritzes and salumi on the terrace.
The menu by Head Chef Geoff Martin features pasta made in-house daily and a considerable element from Marameo’s grill. In addition to a salumi and formaggi menu and a weekday express lunch of $15 spaghetti cacio e pepe, dishes include:
· Wagyu tartare cannoli
· Carrot crisp, bug tail, corn, salmon roe
· Saffron spaghetti, WA blue swimmer crab, chilli, tomato, basil seed
At the statement white Carrara marble bar, the drinks list offers a dedicated spritz menu, a concise cocktail list of elevated classics and house signatures, and a 300-strong wine list.
