Matt Moran launches new virtual cooking classes

Inspiring the best home cooking in your kitchen

Today Matt Moran launches Cooking at Home with Matt Moran, elevating the way Australians cook at home with his favourite recipes, live cooking classes and seasonal ingredients delivered to your door by Harris Farm. Every Friday at 6pm, Moran will take viewers through an interactive step-by-step cooking class creating a curated meal inspired by recipes from his best-selling cookbooks. Ingredient boxes will be delivered direct from Harris Farm Markets to home kitchens prior to the class so aspiring chefs can get ready for a Friday night date with Moran.

“I’ve found myself suddenly at home a lot more the past few months, cooking with my family,” said Moran. “It reminded me that there’s nothing like coming together over a meal with our family and friends, and made me want to encourage all Australians to find joy in cooking. I know the first thing I’m going to be doing as restrictions ease across the country is inviting a few mates over, and cooking up a few of my favourite dishes. So, whether you're cooking with the kids or having some mates round for dinner, Cooking at Home with Matt Moran is designed to help make those meals easier so you can spend less time stressing in the kitchen and more time relaxing with your friends and family.”

Designed to bring family and friends together, each box contains fresh local Australian produce to re-create two hearty menus to serve four that include one main and two sides. Both menus can be cooked on Friday night alongside Moran for a proper feast for eight guests, or customers can choose to cook one option and leave another dish for a meal over the weekend. For those who can’t cook the dishes live, or want to cook along while purchasing their own ingredients, there is an option to sign up to access Moran’s cooking demonstrations at their leisure. When viewing live, Moran encourages viewers to ask questions and join in the fun. “These are not your average cooking classes,” says Moran. “’I’m hoping viewers will join in with a question or two and relax out of their work week and into their weekend with a drink and plenty of good cooking. Before you know it, dinner will be on the table.”

The menu will change each week, and while everything is created from scratch, the recipes are simple enough for cooks of all levels. The first week kicks off with everything you need to create two delicious menus; barbecued flank steak with chilli and coriander relish, roasted baby corn, dill and pine nuts and burrata with beanettes and mint, as well as chicken schnitzel with a butter lettuce, goat’s cheese, pea and preserved lemon salad and a tomato salad with pickled onion and a basil dressing.

Growing up on the land, Moran is a pioneer in Australia of the ‘paddock to plate’ philosophy and a driving force in the connection between Australian diners and the source of their food. Moran continues to support local and regional producers, growers and farmers – each with their own unique stories to tell, that he believes makes cooking and eating so much more special. When it came to partnering with Harris Farm, it was an easy decision. “At the heart of everything I do lies a passion for fresh, seasonal produce. If it’s in season, you should seize it, and this value aligns with Harris Farm’s ethos,” says Moran.

Co-CEO of Harris Farm, Angus Harris said, “At Harris Farm, we’re all about good food and the good things it does for people. When Matt reached out to us to partner with him, we leapt at the chance to work with someone whose values so strongly align with ours. We take pride in offering our customers the best Mother Nature has to offer, and in helping our customers to seize what’s in season. We believe there’s no better way to reconnect with the joy of nature than through home-cooking these simple but elegant recipes alongside award-winning chef, Matt Moran. We’re excited to deliver the best seasonal fruit and veg as well as gourmet grocery and meat for these recipes”.

Cooking at Home with Matt Moran includes two menus designed to serve four, all ingredients, delivery and access to Moran’s cooking classes (one live, one recorded) for $200. Access to the cooking class platform without the ingredients is available for $20 per week, with two new classes added each week. Ingredient boxes are available to order Saturday to Thursday evening from Harris Farm online and delivery can be scheduled between Wednesday and Friday afternoon.

Harris Farm has added in a wine pairing box option containing two bottles, one for each meal, handpicked from their collection of local and international suppliers. Wine pairings begin at $70 for two bottles. Harris Farm delivers to most areas in the Sydney basin. You can find delivery info at
