Fratelli Fresh is bringing Sydney’s favourite, family-friendly Italian eatery and one of the city’s best happy hours to the beachside suburb of Manly on Wednesday, 1 July, perfectly timed to celebrate the continued easing of dining restrictions across New South Wales
Located on West Esplanade, at the coveted, ex-Criniti’s corner spot opposite Manly Wharf, Fratelli Fresh Manly will open at 12pm, ready for a five-day week schedule of affordable lunch and dinner services, a fabulous happy hour from 4pm to 6pm on weekdays, and a daily kids eat free menu for those under the age of 12.
Fratelli Fresh Manly is a place for everyone, accommodating 180 guests, including 110 in a covered, al fresco dining area that wraps around the façade of the spacious restaurant.
Fratelli’s à la carte menu is the ultimate, seasonal, movable feast, including a selection of antipasti and hand-tossed Neapolitan pizzas, with vegan cheese and gluten-free bases available. Signature pasta dishes include silken linguine laced with fresh seafood, pappardelle and rigatoni sauced with tender, slow-cooked meats, and pillows of soft gnocchi. Guests can substitute pasta for zoodles, the perfect, healthy, gluten-free zucchini pasta. The menu also spans a range of salads and side dishes.
Guests with a sweet tooth can indulge in house-crafted dolci, or desserts. Best-sellers include signature banoffee torta and creamy tiramisu. Those who enjoy their ice-cream the Italian way can savour a scoop, or a few, of house-made gelato from a rainbow of flavours, including Snickers, Black Forest and Nutella. Weekday happy hour offers a selection of antipasti for $5 each, including calamari, bruschetta, zucchini flowers, arancini, marinated olives and fries. Pair these delicious bites with $8 Aperol spritz, espresso martini and negroni, $7.50 craft beer pints, and a range of $6 Fratelli Fresh wine, and it’s the perfect al fresco sundowner session after a winter’s walk along the beach. Over 30 Italian and Australian vinos, and a range of draught and bottled beers from Australian and international breweries are also available.
Indulgent lunches are taken care of with the popular three-course, share-style Festa Italiana, including two hours of replenishable drinks, available every day ($79pp). Guests can enjoy the full Fratelli Fresh experience with friendly table service, or conveniently order using the me&u ‘tap and pay’ console on their table. Home and office delivery are available via Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pash said with NSW Government restrictions further easing from Wednesday, 1 July the time is right to open the doors of Fratelli Fresh Manly.
“It is certainly no mean feat to open a new restaurant in the current climate, but we stand by our commitment to bring our beautiful restaurant to a suburb that is much loved by locals, day-trippers and vacationers alike.”
“This is also an opportunity to bring many more Fratelli staff back to work who have been stood down for over three months. We have commandeered a contingent of loyal team members from our restaurants in Sydney that haven’t re-opened yet to help our new venture get off to a fabulous start.”
A prime corner location affords Fratelli Fresh a spacious, Mediterranean-inspired, landscaped, al fresco dining area with potted lemon and olive trees, wall-hung planters, and festoon lighting and ivy garlands zig-zagging overhead. Water views and dashing touches of la dolce vita continue inside the restaurant, which has a bright and breezy feel thanks to large, bi-fold doors that drench the restaurant in natural light.
An interior palette includes natural stone, earthen tones, recycled brick walls and timber finishes, which are layered with rich, cinnamon-brown, leather seating, garnet velvet upholstering and flashes of signature red and white features that stay true to the Fratelli theme. Wall-hung planter boxes and pots of cascading plants add splashes of greenery throughout.
